Community guidelines.

These rules apply to everyone in Builders Circle groups, events, collaborations and related private interactions. They protect a community built on trust and useful contribution.

  1. Respect everyone

    • Treat people fairly across backgrounds and experience levels.
    • No discrimination, harassment, threats, bullying or unwanted sexual attention.
    • Disagree respectfully.
  2. Contribute usefully

    • Share useful knowledge, feedback and opportunities.
    • Keep posts relevant and requests clear.
    • Respect others' time. Support is voluntary.
  3. Respect boundaries

    • No spam, unsolicited sales messages or scraping of contacts.
    • Get consent from both people before making an introduction.
    • Get consent from the person concerned before sharing their contact details or adding them to groups or mailing lists.
  4. Protect personal data and confidentiality

    • Use personal data only for the purpose it was shared for. Get the person's informed consent before reusing or sharing it, using it for marketing or uploading it to AI tools.
    • No harvesting or selling of data. Keep data secure and delete unauthorised copies, but keep any evidence needed for lawful reporting.
    • Get consent before recording private sessions or sharing screenshots or identifiable images.
    • Protect confidential work. Good-faith reporting and legally required disclosures are always allowed.
  5. Act with integrity

    • Be truthful about your role, experience and offers.
    • Credit others, respect ownership and agree collaboration terms in writing.
    • Disclose conflicts of interest, commissions and fees.
  6. Do business responsibly

    • Share pitches, fundraising asks and jobs in the channels set aside for them, or with your Community Lead's approval.
    • No scams, coercion or bribery.
    • Membership does not mean Builders Circle endorses you. Check opportunities independently.
  7. Protect the community

    • Follow event and safety rules.
    • Get written authority before representing Builders Circle, using its brand to endorse anything or collecting money in its name.
  8. Speak up

    • Report concerns privately to your Community Lead, your City Lead or the central team.
    • If a lead is involved, ask for a reviewer from the central team who isn't.
    • Reports are handled discreetly and acknowledged within two business days.
    • Retaliation against anyone who reports is not allowed.
  9. Expect fair accountability

    • The Community Lead reviews concerns and the City Lead decides whether a rule was broken. Central leadership with no involvement handles conflicts of interest and appeals.
    • You will get a chance to respond before a final decision, and you will be given the reasons for it.
    • Outcomes match the seriousness of the breach: a warning, restrictions, suspension or removal. Temporary measures may be taken urgently to keep people safe.
    • You can appeal within 14 calendar days of being told the decision.
    • The rules apply equally to everyone.
